The Buchanan Arts Emerging Artist Fellowship is work-study program for recent graduates, early-career artists, and creative thinkers.
This year-long fellowship supports artists who want to grow creatively while helping sustain the programs, classes, and spaces that make Buchanan Arts Center thrive. Fellows learn, make, and contribute — building skills, relationships, and meaningful work that connect creativity with community.

What Fellows Receive
Dedicated workspace and storage within the Buchanan Arts Studio
Access to the studio and equipment to support personal work
Free and discounted materials and kiln firings
Reduced tuition for Buchanan Arts classes and workshops
What Fellows Contribute
Fellows are integral to the operations of Buchanan Arts, bringing their creative skills and energy to the studio and community. Fellows dedicate approximately eight hours per week to studio maintenance or organizational support for the duration of the program.
For the 2026 cycle, we’re seeking applicants interested in:
Studio maintenance and operations
Marketing and communications for nonprofits
Youth art education
Grant writing and donor development
Please note: The fellowship is currently unpaid and open only to applicants residing in the continental United States.
